Glowy skin is a hallmark of summer, but time spent outdoors can dial up dark spots and dullness. We asked Dr Alek what two of the best sk.in products would be for tackling summer’s aftermath, and we got the scoop for you!

Dr Alek suggests you introduce sk.in avenge | glyco-10 (glycolic acid) and sk.in gloss | radiant shot (vitamin C) into your daily skin routine.

This combo mimics in-clinic results for radiant skin, but how? Keep reading to find out more.

What is vitamin C and what does it do for your skin?

Vitamin C is a skincare powerhouse. It’s an antioxidant that helps defend against free radical damage from stressors like UV light and pollution. It’s also been shown to help minimise the look of frustrating hyperpigmentation. Overall, vitamin C can give skin a bright boost all year long.

sk.in gloss is our daytime use of high strength vitamin C serum, a powerful antioxidant radiant and shot to defend against free radical damage. Specifically, sk.in gloss is effective in improving hydration, reducing pigmentation, providing skin brightening effects, increasing collagen production, and improves fine lines and wrinkles. sk.in gloss can be used by all skin types and through pregnancy.

What is Glycolic Acid?

Glycolic acid is a type of alpha-hydroxy acid, which is an example of a chemical exfoliant, the acid can penetrate deeper and produce greater exfoliation over time. It helps remove dead skin cells and allows for new skin cell generation.

The sk.in avenge | glyco-10 solution has been formulated with a potent 10% glycolic acid to act as an at home chemical peel that requires no neutralisation. By combining gently exfoliating glycolic acid with hydrating and skin barrier repairing ingredients, sk.in avenge | glyco-10 works to stimulate collagen + GAG (glycosaminoglycans) production, reduces inflammation and transepidermal water loss, softens fine lines, wrinkles, rough skin texture, and lastly increases tone and glow. This product can be used by all skin types and through pregnancy.

The three primary goals of sk.in avenge | glyco-10 are to:

  1. Target specific skin concerns such as: ageing prevention, superficial hyperpigmentation, pored and textured skin, as well as fine lines and wrinkles.
  2. Prevent intrinsic skin ageing and repair UV damage to the skin.
  3. Maintain and repair the skin barrier.

Can you use sk.in gloss (vitamin C) and sk.in avenge (glycolic acid - AHA’s) together?

YES! But at different times, sk.in avenge should be used at nighttime only and sk.in gloss should be used in the mornings.

Glycolic acid supercharges vitamin C’s benefits by lifting away dulling surface cells. This clears the way for enhanced vitamin C delivery and accelerates cell renewal, which is essential to smooth and glowing skin.

How to correctly use your products

skin avenge glyco 10

sk.in avenge | glyco-10 - Apply to cleansed skin every second to third night. We always suggest an introductory phase to test for any sensitivity, do not use if the application causes ongoing sensitivity reactions. Allow the product to completely sink into the skin, then follow with your regular night-time products, such as sk.in bounce, sk.in flash, appropriate sk.in avenge serum and sk.in marvel. Always use a sunblock with an SPF of 30 or higher.

sk.in gloss | radiant shot – apply to cleansed, dry skin in the mornings before any other moisturiser or serum. Use one full pump to cover the entire face, you’d need to wait for the skin to completely absorb the sk.in gloss serum before applying any other topical products (like sk.in marvel). Always use a sunblock with an SPF of 30 or higher.
