vegan skincare a choice for the planet

Since we first started, sk.in has been committed to being vegan, sustainable and animal-friendly. Dr Alek explains why.

sk.in is both cruelty-free and vegan. This means our products are never tested on animals and are made exclusively with ingredients that are neither tested nor derived from animals, including honey or beeswax.

We take our vegan status seriously; sk.in is proud to be registered by the international Vegan Society. This means our sk.in serums and treatment products carry the globally-recognised Vegan Trademark logo and have been assessed, audited and registered as not containing animal-derived ingredients and have not involved any animal testing. The sk.in team have a united commitment to being cruelty-free and never using ingredients derived from animals.

Being a vegan skincare brand is beneficial on many levels – to animals, to the planet and to you. To learn more about this, check out the Vegan Society’s excellent article on the benefits of being vegan.

There are two main reasons we decided to make sk.in an exclusively vegan brand.

  1. Our name – sk.in – comes from ‘skin ingredients’ – our mission is to empower and restore the skin using potent, highly-active ingredients. We choose ingredients that have been demonstrated to be effective by independent clinical studies and that have a minimal risk of skin reactions. We combine these all-vegan ingredients for a ‘double effect’, to help repair and maintain a healthy skin barrier, while at the same time targeting specific skin concerns, such as hyperpigmentation, fine lines or wrinkles.
  2. Secondly, sk.in is committed to sustainability. We believe all of us need to take care of the environment and reduce our impact on mother earth as much as possible. Veganism has a multitude of environmental benefits. Every element of our products is carefully chosen to meet a clean beauty approach. Wherever possible, we have made conscious decisions to use materials that meet more sustainable standards, such as fully recyclable bottles for our sk.in serums, glass bottles for our super-serums and professional lines, and non-toxic, biodegradable film for our protective packaging. For more information on our environmental commitment, read how sk.in tackles clean beauty.
    • As part of our commitment to the environment, a percentage of every sk.in sale from when we first launched, goes toward supporting Greenpop’s efforts to plant trees and empower communities to care for their planet.

When you shop sk.in, be confident that you’re getting highly-potent, active skincare products that are 100% vegan and have never been tested on animals. They are also made without parabens, sulphates, soy or gluten. With sk.in you can empower your skin with a clean conscience.
